Project Overview
A standard residential driveway doesn’t cut it on a rural property that sees a mix of light and heavy vehicles. When this Glenorie client needed a major access upgrade, Michael, the director, and the team at Said Civil Contractors stepped in to deliver a driveway built to commercial road standards.
The long, winding nature of rural driveways presents unique challenges with water runoff and sub-grade stability. Michael oversaw the entire operation, ensuring the crew utilised proper civil-grade road construction techniques, from dynamic compaction to concrete edge restraints, guaranteeing a driveway that will last for decades.
Scope of The Project
This project necessitated a complete pavement construction methodology, not a simple top-coat resurface of the long rural driveway. Our team excavated to full depth to achieve the correct falls before importing, grading and dynamically compacting premium civil road base. We then supplied, laid and rolled a heavy-duty, smooth hot-mix asphalt surface to complete the pavement before extruding and installing durable concrete kerbing around the perimeter to channel water runoff.
