Rooty Hill Public School – Drainage Solutions & Landscape Construction

Building an inclusive space requires precision, care, and a deep understanding of accessibility standards. Michael, the director, and the Said Civil Contractors team were honoured to construct a custom disability playground for Rooty Hill Public School.

We understood that the safety and comfort of the students were the highest priority. Michael worked closely with school officials to ensure every aspect of the build—from the specialised play equipment to the sub-surface drainage—met the strict safety regulations required by the Department of Education for inclusive play spaces.

This highly specialised project required our team to build custom play infrastructure integrated with advanced drainage and critical safety surfacing. After executing precision excavation and clearing dense vegetation, we installed durable concrete sleeper retaining walls to safely separate the play zones. The crew then constructed an interactive sandpit with integrated sub-surface drainage and strip drains, installed an accessible bird’s nest swing, and finalised the area by laying premium rubber soft-fall surfacing across the entire footprint to meet critical fall height ratings.
